New beginnings is such an inspirational rags to riches story. It is written really well. It has very realistic characters and a plot full of drama, romance, excitement, and sorrow. I found the book quite hard to put down. I read it all in one day despite the fact that it is really long. The length actually suited the story well. There was a lot to be told and it wouldn't have been as good if it was rushed. New beginnings was a book that I loved every bit of right up to the final page. Absolutely worth it.Product details

Very well written. The characters were very well developed. The dialect was difficult at first. It would have been easier if the location had been identified. Ms. Barrett is a very gifted writer who will be added to my must read list of authors. The Preacher and the Prostitute was also a great read.
Brenda Barrett has a lovely collection of books that are sure page turners. I am always so sad when I am finished with each book. This book was one of my faves it was well written and I love each character and how there is more to them than the first impressions given. They had a steady pace of development and I felt like a fly on the wall listening in on the unfortunate and at times comical situations of a thrown together family. A great story about love and acceptance and the will to change it fate.
This books shows how money can influence you life, but also how love can withstand the test of time.. From the ghetto the suburbs, and what matters to the heart the most is the summary of this book. I don't do reviews that actually tell what happened in the book.
I stumbled across this book and loved it!! Also Jamaican born, Ms. Barrett, I think I've found a new fav author in you. Thank you for such an amazing story. Geneva and Froggie's love for each other was sweet and I love the way she figured things out on her own. I'm about to order some more of your books. One love, Sista!
I truly enjoyed reading this novel. It was my first time reading anything by Brenda Barrett, but I must say, I liked her writing style. I downloaded an appetizer of several of her series novels and am looking forward to reading them soon.I liked the storyline of this one even though I found it quite predictable. I will be looking for more novels by this artist in the future.
I really liked this book even though it was slightly predicable.
The only part I didn't really care for was the ending. Though I enjoyed what happened I wasn't to thrilled about how it happened. It seemed to end abruptly and wrap up the entire in the last 10 pages. Like, what about this and how did that turn out? I guess it is left like that in case the author chooses to write a sequel.
Oh, the power of love! This book was an excellent read. Geneva and Winston shared a very deep love for each other and a bond that definitely was not easily broken. With Geneva's Sunday substantial inheritance at stake, Winston was determined to let her how to fulfil the conditions of three ppl inheritance. In spite the possibility of losing each other forever, both were able to obtain their goals. This book inspiration and an excellent read.
